Dr. Krista Foreman

Krista is originally from Fredericton.  She now lives in Keswick Ridge with her husband, Andrew, and their three daughters, Brianna, Kaitlin and Cortney.  Her family includes their dog Zeke, two cats, Gazelle and Divver, and a horse named Frankie.  Krista graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College. She returned home and started SouthPaw after four years of practicing.  Krista enjoys the interaction with pets and their owners and she enjoys surgery, both soft tissue and orthopedic.  She will be attending workshops for canine rehabilitation in 2012.  Krista co-chairs the provincial Safe for Pets Too program which arranges veterinary care and temporary fostering for pets of women escaping domestic violence. 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Shannon Lewis

Shannon is also a graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island.  Originally from Salisbury, she worked in Woodstock before moving back to Fredericton to practice.  Shannon has been with the hospital the longest, she was settled in before the practice transitioned from McGregor's to SouthPaw! Shannon and Adam live on a dairy farm outside Fredericton with their dog, Bear and four cats named Cheese, Rhea, Moto and Tom.  Shannon loves to do ultrasound and she will be training in acupuncture in 2012.  She enjoys snowshoe treks in the winter and motorcycle trips in the summer. 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Mary Ellen Etheridge

Mary Ellen is originally from Keswick Ridge and she attended the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island. After graduation she worked in mixed animal practice in PEI before returning home to start a dairy farm on her family homestead with her husband , Roy and their son, James.  They have one Jack Russell terrier named Ellie and a cat named Molly.   Mary Ellen enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and she volunteers as a council member of the New Brunswick Veterinary Medical Association. 

 

 

 

 

 

Laurie - Hospital Manager

Laurie was born in Fredericton. She and her husband, Garth, were blessed with two beautiful girls, Jessica and Jenny.  They have four horses, Taz, Aries, Lido and Sweet Pea. They also have a dog named Rebound  and two cats, Cur-Ji and Licorice.  Laurie has been working in the veterinary industry since 1994 and has been with SouthPaw from the very beginning.  We appreciate Laurie's dedication to SouthPaw, her compassion for animals and her ability to raise orphan kittens!!

 

 

 

 

 

Alisha - Receptionist

Alisha is Fredericton born and raised.  She spent a lot of her time showing and eventing horses.  She now has three horses, Sierra, Wynter and Lyric, a boxer named Tayte and two cats, Dash and Tilly. Alisha has been with SouthPaw since 2006 after already working with Dr. Foreman and Laurie during Alisha's high school co-op program.  Alisha has become very versatile through the years and is able to assist all through the hospital.  Whether helping out back or greeting you in reception Alisha's love for animals shines through!

 

 

 

 

 

Penny - Receptionist

Penny is from Fredericton and has raised a beautiful daughter, Jenna.  She has a dog named Doogie and a soft spot for Golden Retrievers created by her beloved Maggie.  Penny used to brighten our days when she worked next door to us at the Cash and Carry - when that business closed in 2007 we were quick to scoop her up for ourselves. We knew her bright smile and easy laugh would be just right for our team!!  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Karla - Receptionist

Karla is from Hoyt and she joined us in May of 2011.  She and her husband Matt share their home with one dog, Keesha, two cats Skittles and Hobbes, and two snakes, Archie and Eve.  One of our clients mentioned they had a very pleasant, out-going sister-in-law named Karla who they thought would fit in well with us... this proved to be true!!  Karla most enjoys greeting all the beautiful animals and their parents and helping with client education.  She is one of those people that you feel you've known for years even after you've just met her!

 

 

 

 

 

Meg - Registered Veterinary Technician

Meg grew up in Fredericton, then attended the Registered Technician Program at Oulton College in Moncton.  She came to do her on the job training with SouthPaw in 2009 and we liked her so much we never let her leave! Meg shares her home with her kitty, Tweak.  Meg still enjoys the thrill of blood collection and getting that intravenous catheter placed. Meg brightens the day with a constant smile and her tendency to sing us songs appropriate to the many moments in our days!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Teri - Veterinary Technician

Teri originates from Pictou County, Nova Scotia. She moved to Fredericton to take the veterinary technician program offered by Horizon College.  Teri started with us in 2007 and now works part-time as she has resumed her studies in pursuit of becoming a veterinarian.  Teri and her boyfriend Jason share their home with their dog, Thea, two cats named Irys and Raven, and two chinchillas named Saris and Serenity.  Teri volunteers her time with the Safe For Pets Too committee.  Teri is always ready and willing to learn...anything...anytime...with lots of questions....and we love her for it!!!

 

 

 

 

 

Jackie - student Veterinary Technician

Jackie is from Fredericton and she joined us on a work practicum in the spring of 2011. She has completed her first year of the veterinary technician program at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College and will resume her studies in 2012.  Jackie has four coon hounds Minnie, Silver, Red and Bingo, a Boston terrier named Sarge and two budgies named Lemon Lime and Blue Bell.  She assists our vets and our technicians , helps with patient care and reception.  Her gentle demeanour and love of animals makes her a great fit for our team and we hope to see her back when she is done her studies!
